Turmeric is fat soluble which means that to absorb it’s anti inflammatory properties it must be taken with milk, yogurt or oil. Traditionally a warm drink of powdered turmeric, black pepper and milk is mixed, or the powdered root is cooked with ghee.

Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder with warm milk of your choice, cow, nut or coconut. Sprinkle in some black pepper to maximise it’s health benefits and sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.
